If you’re from the Caribbean you know where I stole the subject from: the rhyme we use to remember the hurricane season. I’m hoping life won’t be like a hurricane the next few months though! I feel like we’ve hit the middle of the year really quickly, especially compared to 2020! And lest you say “Francine, it’s not the middle yet!”, let me remind you that December doesn’t really count as a real month. Not in my mind anyway.
Things are opening up in many locations around the world, and trips are being planned. While I am happy that we are returning to “normal”, I am carefully weighing my decisions about where I want to go, and what I want to do. But I am pleased to see the excitement with which most of us are greeting the approaching summer.
July also tends to be a slow month for me (as well as August tbh), so in June I plan to buckle down and advance on a number of projects. School isn’t out here yet, so I still have a few weeks where I can in theory work undisturbed.
Here are some things to celebrate in June:
Great Outdoors Month
Pride Month
Audiobook Month
Caribbean Heritage Month
3rd: World Bicycle Day
12th: Worldwide Knit in Public Day
21st: World Music Day
29th: Camera Day
Remember to make a note in your calendar or bullet journal!

In June we’re reading Terms of Endearment. Make sure to purchase or reserve your copy!
Come make with us! During the last two weeks of May a group of us committed to getting craft projects finished, or at least make progress on bigger projects. I enjoyed the camaraderie and accountability, and so I will make this a permanent feature in the group. if you think this will help you to finally get some projects done, then sound off on this thread.
What are your plans for June?
So far June looks like tending the vegetable garden. I still have 3 things to plant.
Continue with my monthly camera play. I wish I could do World Bicycle Day or World Knit Day, but I do not currently have a working bicycle and I can't knit for beans. More like I can do a knit stitch, but not a purl LOL. Get in my art room more (fingers crossed).
